For information regarding this years competition, Click Here
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) began in 2005 as simply a demonstration at the World Championship, and was known as FIRST Vex Challenge (FVC). In 2006, teams around the country built Vex bots and competed in the Half-Pipe Hustle at six pilot tournaments and then at the World Championship. Later in 2006, a full pilot season was born, out of which came over 500 teams worldwide along with 25 state-level Hangin'-A-Round championships, including the first VirginiaFIRST Championship. 100 teams from Canada, the US, Singapore, China, and Mexico competed at the World Championship in April 2007. Coming out of pilot status in June of 2007, the program changed names from FVC to FTC, with the idea that other robotics platforms could be introduced in the future. Stay tuned… |
