Parking RSVP Information Hello, Everyone! Parking in downtown Richmond is always a challenge, and this year is no different. We seem to have hit on a procedure last year that alleviated much of the confusion and crowding, so this year we are going to stick with that system. Carpooling and the use of buses are encouraged. We can accommodate the buses, and carpools will reduce the numbers of cars that have to be parked. Trailers will also pose a problem, so we ask that you pack as light as possible. There will be no team parking in the Bowe Street. Limited space is available in the Broad Street Deck, across from the Siegel Center. We will provide each team with up to 10 dashboard passes for parking in the Broad Street deck. Only those cars with passes will be guaranteed access into the Broad Street deck. One of these passes will be a designated "Team Runner," and will be allowed to come and go throughout the day without paying for each exit/entry. Teams will be required to pay the parking fee, although we have made arrangements for a reduced rate of $3.50 per entry/exit for all team members and mentors. In order to take advantage of this reduced rate, drivers will have to pick up a discount sticker at pit administration or in the main lobby. This sticker will be applied to your parking ticket, and when you give that ticket to the cashier in the deck, you will only have to pay the $3.50 rate. Otherwise, parking costs $5.00. Plenty of parking is available at the Cary Street Deck, at the corner of Cary and Harrison Streets, and limited spaces may also be available at the West Main Street Deck, 801 West Main Street. A shuttle bus will run from the Cary Street deck to the Siegel Center on Friday and Saturday. The reduced parking rate will also apply at those locations, just pick up a discount sticker at pit administration or in the main lobby. In order for me to get your dashboard pass to you before March 1st, we will mail them directly to you. I ask that you provide me with information on the number of passes you will need and the quickest, most reliable address to mail them to. Please complete the form below no later than February 22. If you are coming by bus, oversized van, or if you will be hauling a trailer, please contact me directly at robotstoo@aol.com so that we can plan for parking those. Best wishes for a terrific season, Dee Dee Tomczak VirginiaFIRST
